The Directorate of HIV and AIDS is responsible for coordinating the national biomedical response to HIV and AIDS. The Department aims at reducing new infections and the disease burden. It looks after the biomedical HIV interventions in the areas of treatment and care, Prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV; management of sexually transmitted infections; Post exposure prophylaxis (PEP), Early Infant Diagnosis; Pre-ART, TB/HIV, and Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC).
