The Health Education Section (HES) was officially established by the Ministry of Health in 1969.

Since its inception, HES has been required to respond to a rapidly changing environment of health education behaviour in which the demand for its services has rapidly grown. Health Education Services manages all health communications for the Ministry of Health.

The vision is to have a population that values, adopts and maintains healthy behaviours in a supportive environment.

Mission 

Our mission is ‘to create public awareness, facilitate community involvement and participation, and promote activities that will foster healthy behaviour and encourage people to want to be healthy, stay healthy and do what they can individually and collectively to maintain sound health and access client-friendly health services in a timely manner.
