PHYSICAL ASSETS MANAGEMENT (PAM) AS INTERNSHIP PROVIDERS

The Physical Asserts Management (PAM) department provides internship for students from Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) and other International Universities, who are studying Biomedical Engineering. PAM provide trainings for these students to ensure that the students are conversant with medical equipment as well as daily routine as Biomedical Engineers in hospitals. These interns are trained at Referral Maintenance Units based at Kamuzu Central Hospital, Zomba Central Hospital, Mzuzu central Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital to complete their industrial attachments for a minimum duration of six months. These students are provided with knowledge on principle of operation, installation, troubleshooting or fault finding, planned preventive as well as corrective maintenance, 5S, risk assessment and decommissioning of medical equipment. They are also provided with soft skills such as effective communication and creating solution through innovations and designs.

PAM achieve this by allocating supervisors to these students who orient and demonstrate the skills enlightened above.
