8.8 Million children in Malawi are set receive polio vaccine from 12th to 15 July 2023. This will be done in a campaign to protect our children from polio.

Speaking at Chilunga Community Ground, TA Kapeni I in Blanty, the Minister of Health, Hon. Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, MP said the 2023 edition of the campaign was necessary after polio was identified in more children recently.

“We will therefore extend the age range of children tor receive the oral vaccine to Under Fifteens,” the Hon Minister explained.

The Honorable Minister urged all parents and care givers to all children in the said age range to ensure that they they have received the vaccine.

Speaking earlier, the WHO Representative to Malawi, Dr Neema Kimambo assured the ministry that their organisation will continue to support all efforts that would help the country in the fight against polio.
